甜菜是制糖工业的重要原料。我省甜菜栽培区域辽阔,自然条件复杂,迫切需要适宜不同地区自然条件及栽培特点的甜菜新品种(类型)。我站从1974年以来,从黑龙江、吉林等省甜菜科研与育种单位,引进一些优良品种,并对其特征、特性、经济价值以及在我省各地区自然条件下的适应性进行了观察,为使其尽早地在生产中发挥作用,从1976年至1978年,由我站联合有关糖厂,共同进行了全省甜菜良种区域性多点鉴定试验,确定各品种的利用价值和相应的推广范围,做为今后各地引种、繁殖推广良种的依据。
