一九九六年四月,我去南京师范大学拜访当代著名雕塑家吴为山先生,与他就《肖像雕塑理论与技法》一书稿进行商榷。同时,请他找几位从事艺术研究的专家、教授、博士生对当今国际的国内的艺术动态和出版界的现状进行座谈,通过吴先生的活动,我如愿以偿。也就是这时,南京艺术学院林树中教授打来电话,说他很想见见我。林教授是目前我国四大美术史学博士生导师之一。他曾任美国密执安大学客座教授、研究员,继而又到日本东京大学、香港中文大学访问讲学,主编过《中国美术全集·魏晋南北朝雕塑》等三十多种著作,撰写过一百余篇论文,培养出九位博士生。见面后,他从书柜中拿出了《六朝考古发现与美术史》
In April 1996, I went to Nanjing Normal University to visit Mr. Wu Weishan, a famous contemporary sculptor, to discuss with him the manuscript of “Portrait Sculpture Theory and Techniques”. At the same time, I asked him to find some artists engaged in art research, professors, doctoral students on the current international art movement and the publishing industry forum for discussion, through Mr. Wu’s activities, I got my wish. That is when Professor Lin Shuzhong from the Nanjing Arts Institute called and said he would love to meet with me. Professor Lin is one of the four doctoral tutors in fine art history in our country. He was a visiting professor and researcher at the University of Michigan. He then went to Japan for lectures at the University of Tokyo and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and edited more than 30 kinds of works including “Complete Works of Chinese Art, Sculptures of Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties” and wrote over one hundred Papers, training nine doctoral students. After meeting, he took out from the bookcase, “Six Dynasties Archaeological Discoveries and Art History”
