1937年7月中旬,中共湘鄂赣省委代表与国民党军委武汉行营代表、第50师、国民党平江县党政代表谈判,达成部份协议,决定将湘鄂赣边区红军改名为湘鄂赣人民抗日红军游击队。8月,共产党人发动组织成立前进社,创办《前进》旬刊,后又办《民族呼声》(几月后改名《联合》旬刊)
In mid-July 1937, the CPC Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee negotiated with representatives of the Kuomintang Central Military Commission Wuhan, the 50th Division and the KMT Party Committee and Government representatives in Pingjiang County, reached a partial agreement and decided to rename the Red Army in Hunan, Hubei and Jiangxi the Hunan, Anti-Japanese Red Army guerrillas. In August, Communists mobilized to form a forward-going group, set up a “forward” journal, and then run a “national voice” (a few months later renamed the “joint” journal)
