The study of thyroid microcarcinoma (hereinafter referred to as microcarcinoma) has been reported for many times. In the 16th thyroid surgical seminar in Japan, the discovery rate of microcarcinoma fluctuates from 13.8% to 30.0%. The purpose of this study is to find out more microscopic cancers and investigate their clinicopathological features through fine needle aspiration cytology and tissue thinning examinations from autopsy without clinical thyroid disease. Materials and Methods Ninety-five adults over 14 years of age were randomly selected from a necropsy specimen taken from the First Pathology School of Medicine, Japan Showa University. 68 of them were punctured in the right and left lobes with a 30 ml normal syringe and a 21G needle, respectively
