The thermodynamic enthalpy ΔH and internal energy ΔU of combustion reaction C10H8 (s) +12 O2 (g) 10CO2 (g) + 4H2O (l) were determined experimentally. According to the basic laws of thermodynamics, experimental data show that the enthalpy of reaction ΔH = -5093.3kJ.mol-1 and the reaction internal energy ΔU = -5012kJ · mol-1, which are similar to the theoretical calculation.
