青花菜又名绿菜花、茎椰莱、西兰花等,营养丰富,味道鲜美,是优质高档蔬菜品种,欧美等发达国家已普遍栽培,深受消费者的欢迎。我国随着人民生活水平的提高,宾馆和外贸需求增加,青花菜生产逐步发展。过去,生产用种全靠进口,价格昂贵,且耗汇颇多。对此,上海市农科院园艺、蔬菜所科技干部、副研究员、青花菜课题组长陈澍棠同志和同事们下决心攻克青花菜育种和制种难关,经过多年的艰辛努力,1991年终于在国内首次育成了青花莱“上海一号”。这一成果荣获1992年度上海市科技成果二等奖。最近,又育成了青花菜“上海二号”。
