铁路路基基床翻浆冒泥病害在我国南方地区的线路是比较多的,有些甚至很严重,影响运输及行车安全。有些工点虽经多次整治,仍不见效果,桂北工点就是其中之一。据国外资料介绍,目前多采用高分子化学材料进行整治,效果较好,故选定桂北工点试用塑料软板做封闭层,配合纵向渗水盲沟进行综合整治。1980年12月,在桂林工务段的积极支持和配合下,当月施工完毕,经1981年雨季迄今现场观察未见泥浆冒出,线路质量良好。现介绍如下:
