海口港地处海南与大陆的交通枢纽,交通繁杂,人口稠密,日人流量达万人次以上,港口气温较高,适合媒介生物繁殖,有利于肠道传染病及各种疾病传播流行。全港现有食堂三家,有餐厅设施,渡船三艘,从业人员105名,港区外副食店饮摊110间,从业人员272人,日均就餐人数多达6000多人次,海口港卫生防疫站加强对食品卫生管理,配备专职食品卫生监督员三名(其中主管医师两名,检验技师一名),制定以控制肠道传染病,防止食物中毒为中心的食品
