近代科学的传入为我们带来大量的科学译著,也引进了一系列的用于各门学科的专科词语,亦称“术语”。据现有史料,西方近代化学知识的传入当以1855年英国医师合信编译的《博物新编》为最早,随之涌现出《格物入门·化学入门》(1868)、《化学初阶》(1870)、《化学鉴原》(1871)、《化学指南》(1873)《、格致启蒙·化学启蒙》(1879)、《西学启蒙·化学启蒙》(1886)《、化学新编》(1896)等一批化学译著,我国的化学词汇系统也因此逐渐形成,并成为汉语词汇系统中不可或缺的组成
