Thalidomide - ups and downs “Life ” mentioned thalidomide (Thalidomide, trade name: reaction stop) Many doctors and even ordinary people are no stranger to it, the drug can be legendary. As early as 1954, the Federal Republic of Germany synthesized thalidomide, which was originally thought to be a safe and effective antiemetic drug, which is widely used in the antiemetic treatment of pregnant women. However, since the birth of a baby with a short finger deformity (Seal Tire), people began to realize that it appeared to be related to the use of this medicine. It was not until 1961 that when the drug was banned, more than 10,000 babies were born. This tragedy has become a typical case in the field of new drug research, prompting all countries in the world to attach great importance to the safety of new drug research and to establish a more complete set of clinical research and management practices.
