The French lieutenant’s woman has been a great success since it was first published in 1969.Different critics have found various attractions in the novel in terms of different angles.With its postmodernist stmcture,its existentialist elements and its characterization, in particular the mysterious character Sarah,it has drawn wide international critical attention.This paper mainly explodes the feminism through Sarah’s transformation as well as her conflicts with people around her.She is a woman searching for her own identity.
