正当人类航空步入百岁时,世界航空业仍在收拾“9.11”后的残局,毫无庆祝华诞的欢乐。北美某些紧随怀特飞机上天的老牌航空公司,几乎已到了“寿终正寝”的边缘。“已是悬崖百丈冰,犹有花枝俏”,虽然主要骨干航空公司再次进入“冰河期”,但是支线航空“静悄悄的革命”的势头有增无减。美国2001年第四季度,支线喷气机的航班数较2000年同期增长了36%。相形之下,宽、窄干线飞机及螺旋桨飞机的班次分别下降了11%、20% 与28%。支线喷气机已成为美国骨干航空公司起死回生的灵丹妙药。借着重组的东风,中国民航进入了“山花烂漫时”,为航空百年平添几分春色。但中国航空公司要由大而强,后来居上,必须健全与发展合理的航线网络,理顺航空公司间既有竞争、又有联合的理性关系,在这当中发展支线航空是一个至关重要的环节。如果说支线航空在中国是姗姗来迟的春天,那么在重组的催化下,它会是“忽如一夜春风来,千树万树梨花开”。反过来,支线网络的伸展又会大大强化重组的威力。

However, for Chinese airlines to be bigger and stronger and come from behind, it is imperative to improve and develop a reasonable route network and to rationalize the existing competition between the airlines, as well as a united rational relationship. In this regard, the development of regional aviation is a crucial link . If the regional aviation in China is late spring, then under the catalyst of reorganization, it will be “Suddenly a night of spring breeze, thousands of trees and pear trees blooming.” In turn, the extension of the branch network will greatly strengthen the power of restructuring.
