在发展货物集装化活动中,1981年广州南站与广东省物资局建材公司签订了租用车辆合同,租用60吨棚车15辆,专为从冬瓜铺站装运英德水泥厂生产的水泥运至广州南站。在冬瓜铺英德水泥厂装车时采用托盘集装化,每块托盘摆放水泥20袋,重1吨。每辆60吨棚车装59块托盘,计59吨。均使用叉车装、卸车。自1981年4月至12月,已装运810车,47,790吨。其主要优点是:第一、减少了水泥的损失:由于人力作业搬动的次数减少了,损失率由原来的10%下降到1%,提高了运输质量。第二、提高了装卸效率:人力装、卸每车每次均需2—4小时,叉车装、卸各需40分钟。
In the development of cargo containerization activities, in 1981, Guangzhou South Railway Station signed a contract for the lease of vehicles with the Building Materials Company of Guangdong Materials Bureau to lease 15 60-ton box cars for the shipment of cement from Yingde Cement Plant Guangzhou South Railway Station.
