  You d think human beings know about sleep well, but many of us are still sleeping poorly. Because some of the things we know about sleep are not completely true.
  More sleep is better for you.
  Too much sleep may cause oversleep. People s sleeping time is different from each other, and it may change slowly as we grow up. The researchers of Harvard University find that too much sleep often means bad sleep quality. So we should improve our sleep quality but not have more sleep. Here is some advice about sleep:
  Alcohol helps you sleep.
  In the past, people often drank before going to sleep, and most of them slept quickly with the help of alcohol. However, alcohol also makes you wake up many times during the night. This causes bad sleep quality. So, try drinking non-alcoholic beer before going to bed.
  Everyone should get 7 to 8 hours of sleep per night.
  Everyone s sleep needs are different. The National Sleep Foundation (國家睡眠基金会) suggest different sleeping time of people in different age. Newborns need 14 to 17 hours of sleep each day, adults aged from 18 to 64 need 7 to 9 hours of sleep and people older than 64 need 7 to 8 hours. A research finds that people having 8 to 9.5 hours of sleep are much happier the next day.
  If you wake up at midnight, lie in bed until you sleep again.
  Someone may wake up at midnight. We all want to sleep again. If that doesn t happen within 15 minutes, most experts recommend getting out of bed to do something easy. Try not to check the clock either.
