The author has been studying the behavior and role of traceelements during the polymorphic crystallization of calcium carbonates such ascalcite(CaCO_3),aragonite(CaCO_3),magnesian calcite(Ca_(1-x)Mg_xCO_3)and pro-todolomite(Ca_(1+x)Mg_(1-x)(CO_3)_2)under the normal temperature and pressure.physico-chemieal study of carbonate crystal growth from aqueous solution willgive basically important informations on(1)the carbonate crystal chemistryitself,(2)the occurrence and persistence of carbonate minerals(biogenic andnon-biogenic)in marine and fresh water environments,(3)trace element con-tent of carbonate skeletons,from which we can get informations on the en-vironmental change of the earth′s surface.
