Sino-Japanese economic cooperation belongs to the type of cooperation between developing countries and developed countries. The traditional theory of international division of labor holds that this type of cooperation is the result of division of labor between industries or sectors. The modern new theory of international division of labor holds that this type of cooperation is the result of the international division of labor in different stages of production in the industry or industry brought about by the new technological revolution in the industry or sector. Despite the differences between the two, both theories hold the view that the economic cooperation between developed and developing countries remains a vertical type of international division of labor, unlike the economic cooperation resulting from the horizontal international division of labor among developed countries The available information shows that the economic cooperation between China and Japan is a complementary one. Japan’s advantage is that it can provide high-tech technology and capital. China’s advantage is that it can provide natural resources, agricultural products and labor resources. Japan should give full play to its advantages in developing capital-intensive and knowledge-intensive industries, and China should give full play to its advantages in developing labor-intensive industries. From the perspective of choosing the geographical scope of the economic cooperation between the two countries, northeast China, northern China and the Bohai Rim region in China are most closely adjacent to Japan and are very interesting places for scholars. There have emerged “Northeast Asia Economic Circle” Discussion on Huanghai Economic Circle.
