繁殖山茶,一般在5～6月份采用嫩枝扦插法,但成活率较低。近年来,笔者试用叶插法和短穗单芽扦插法繁殖山茶,成活率达到99％以上。具体方法是:7月份在当年生嫩枝上取带柄叶,将叶柄插入糠灰与河砂按1∶1混合的基质中,深约为0.5～1厘米;或取1厘米长一段当年生嫩枝,每段带一单芽和叶片(位于短穗上部),插入基质,以没到单芽下部为准。这两种方法扦插后,均应洒水喷透,置于荫棚
