目的探讨侵袭性垂体腺瘤患者血清中基质金属蛋白酶-9(matrix metalloproteinase 9,MMP-9)的表达与其侵袭特性的相关性。方法收集行手术治疗的垂体腺瘤患者70例,其中侵袭性垂体腺瘤患者38例,非侵袭性垂体腺瘤患者22例,健康体检患者30例,应用酶联免疫吸附试验(enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay,ELISA)检测法分别监测患者血清MMP-9水平,并观察侵袭性垂体腺瘤患者血清基质金属蛋白酶-9水平与肿瘤大小及功能之间的关系。结果侵袭性垂体腺瘤患者血清基质金属蛋白酶-9水平显著高于非侵袭性垂体腺瘤患者和健康体检患者,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。侵袭性垂体腺瘤患者基质金属蛋白酶-9水平与肿瘤大小存在相关性,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05),而与肿瘤的功能无明显相关性,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。结论血清基质金属蛋白酶-9水平的升高与侵袭性垂体腺瘤侵袭特性及肿瘤生长相关,这可能提示侵袭性垂体腺瘤病情进展过程中基质金属蛋白酶-9扮演者重要角色。
Objective To investigate the correlation between the expression of matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9) and its invasiveness in patients with invasive pituitary adenoma. Methods Seventy patients with pituitary adenoma underwent surgical treatment, including 38 patients with invasive pituitary adenoma, 22 patients with non-invasive pituitary adenoma, and 30 healthy people. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) assay was used to detect serum MMP-9 levels in patients with invasive pituitary adenoma. The relationship between serum MMP-9 level and tumor size and function was analyzed. Results Serum levels of MMP-9 in invasive pituitary adenomas were significantly higher than those in non-invasive pituitary adenomas and healthy subjects (P <0.05). There was a significant correlation between the level of MMP-9 and tumor size in invasive pituitary adenoma (P <0.05), but not with tumor function (P> 0.05) . Conclusion The increase of serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 is associated with invasiveness of invasive pituitary adenomas and tumor growth, which may indicate that MMP-9 plays an important role in the progression of aggressive pituitary adenomas.
