1999年6月,中国科学院党组决定原中国科学院地质研究所与原中国科学院地球物理研究所两所整合,组成新的中国科学院地质与地球物理研究所,并整体进入中国科学院知识创新工程试点单位。根据知识创新工程的要求,新所成立后紧紧围绕确定战略定位、凝练创新目标,在建立创新体制与运行模式、机制改革与结构调整、队伍建设与人才吸引、支撑条件与基础设施建设改造、国家科研项目争取等方面做了大量工作。经过全所两年的努力,在全院进入创新试点研究所的评估中,我所取得了院排第三,资环局排名第一的优异成绩,所有这些为全面推进阶段创新工作奠定了良好基础。研究所整合组建开始,面临的首要问题
In June 1999, the Chinese Academy of Sciences decided that the original Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Sciences should integrate with the Institute of Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences to form a new Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and enter the pilot unit of knowledge innovation project of Chinese Academy of Sciences as a whole.
