In classical theories of language, metaphor is viewed as a linguistic phenomenon. In the new theoretical framework of metaphor studies, in everyday conventional language conceptual metaphor has functions of structuring conceptual system, con-ceptualizing abstract concepts in terms of the comprehensible ones and providing a new understanding of our experience.
