简仪是元代天文学家郭守敬创制的一种天文观测仪器,因为是将结构繁复的唐宋浑仪加以革新和简化而成的,故称简仪,它完成于至元十三年(1276年)。 在简仪发明以前,观测天体主要是用浑仪。随着观测项目的增加,由于浑仪圆环交错套选,以致不少星象被阴影遮盖,影响了观测,而且由于读数系统也不统一,使用不便。
As a astronomical observational instrument created by Yuan Shou astronomer GUO Shou-jing, Jian-Yi was simplified and refined from the complicated structure of the Tang and Song Dynasties. It was said that it was completed in the 13th year of Yuan Dynasty (1276) . In the invention of the original instrument, the observation of celestial bodies is mainly used. As the number of observational projects increased, many celestial horoscopes were shadowed by the ringing of the celestial sphere. As a result, observations were affected, and because the reading system was not uniform, it was inconvenient to use.
