“Being a man” and “doing things” are two notions of everyday morality that are both important and universal. They are both increasingly common in today’s China, where the transformation of traditional morality and modernity is remarkable. Tough ethical vocabulary is important. Against this background, the author analyzes and discusses the argument made by Professor LIAO Shen-bai in this respect, and points out some characteristics of both in daily ethics and the logical derivation of basic ethics and internal and external arguments, This is based on other features of the preliminary theory formed by the concepts of “man” and “work”.
