苹果社区营销中心——今日美术馆苹果分馆是以原北京啤酒厂西北角的锅炉房为基础,通过改造而得到的一组全新的使用空间。选择原有锅炉房作为新的营销中心是基于以下的考虑:一、建筑的基地位置与城市交通的良好关系;二、大空间所带来的使用上的灵活性;三、原有锅炉房建筑的特点所形成的特殊的设计条件。改造的矛盾在于建筑的功能与建筑实体,由于时间因素的介入而成为不对应的一对关系:建筑实体与功能的变化是根本矛盾的或不矛盾的,或处于二者的中间状态,而以中间状态的情况居多,因而也就造成了建筑的生命过程的又一现象——改造:原有的空间状态就被或多或少地保留下来,成为新“建筑”的主要构成元素,并将时间因素带入。
