湖北省随州市是湖北省重要的食用菌生产和出口基地,食用菌为农民撑起了一把致富伞,目前,食用菌已成为随州市农业中仅次于粮食、生猪、蔬菜的第四大产业.2008年该市食用菌总产量2.75万吨,产值11.5亿元,全年食用菌出口突破8000万美元,食用菌产值占农业总产值的比重达18%,农民人均因此增收80元以上.
