In many parts of the Soviet Union, Central and Northern European countries, as well as in Canada and the northern United States, the additional energy consumption of dry kernels and the difficulty of harvesting of the Combine due to the planting of grain corn with high moisture content at harvest. Calculations show that the energy consumed to reduce the corn kernel water content from 30% to 13% is higher than the energy required to produce the same amount of corn. Therefore, reducing the corn harvest grain water content is of great practical significance. Corn harvest time is determined by the dry strength of the harvested grain.
