当前,在以江泽民同志为核心的第三代中央领导集体的领导下,我国正在进行伟大而艰巨的社会主义改革开放和现代化建设。党中央把坚持和健全民主集中制作为加强党的建设的一个重大问题。鲜明地提到全党面前,不仅有重要的现实意义,而且有深远的历史意义。实践证明,民主集中制贯彻得好不好,直接关系到党的事业的兴衰成败。我们必须从巩固党的执政地位、提高党的领导水平,确保党的基本路线一百年不动摇的高度,深刻认识中央突出强调坚持和健全民主集中制的重要性,切实贯彻好民主集中制。
At present, under the leadership of the third generation of the central collective leadership with Comrade Jiang Zemin at the core, our country is undergoing great and arduous socialist reform and opening up as well as its modernization drive. The CPC Central Committee has made adhering to and improving democratic centralism a major issue for strengthening party building. In stark mention of the entire party, it not only has important practical significance but also has far-reaching historical significance. Practice has proved that implementing democratic centralism is not good and is directly related to the success or failure of the party’s cause. We must make every effort to consolidate the party’s position as a ruling party, raise the party’s leadership level, and ensure that the party’s basic line will remain unshakable for a hundred years. We must profoundly understand the importance the Central Committee promised to uphold and perfect the system of democratic centralism and earnestly implement democratic centralism.
