The strong Sino-Australian trade, and the increasing investment of Chinese companies in the development and utilization of Australian mineral resources, have brought new opportunities for both parties to jointly explore or develop mineral products, which will effectively promote the development of related industries. South Australia is an important production center for copper, uranium, zircon, and wine, and there are a large number of magnetite resources yet to be developed. Clay mineral studies will probably benefit directly from this. The development of local clay minerals for fine-grained iron ore pelleting requires the study to evaluate the suitability of clay minerals and further explore the potential of clay minerals to increase blast furnace efficiency. The unique advantages of clay nanocomposites in blocking oxygen permeability can be used to develop multi-layered composite PET containers for wines, which is conducive to the rapid promotion of Sino-Australian wine trade, with multiple environmental and economic benefits. These research and development will help expand the market of China’s clay production companies, and will also help improve the quality of the original products such as iron ore pellets in Nanao to better meet the requirements of Chinese industry.
