1938年12月,徐维廉在湖南衡阳发起伤兵之友运动,建立抗战时期第一个伤兵之友社,救助战时受伤的国民政府军队士兵。这一运动从湖南衡阳发起,很快受到国民政府的推动,在大后方地区广泛推行开来。伤兵之友运动,作为国民政府指导的群众性运动,救助了大量战时受伤士兵,对抗日战争的胜利做出了巨大贡献。
In December 1938, Xu Wei Lian launched the Friends of the Wounded in Hunan Hengyang Campaign, establishing the first Friends of the Wounded Society during the War of Resistance Against Japan and rescuing soldiers of the National Government who were wounded in the war. Launched from Hengyang in Hunan Province, this campaign was soon promoted by the national government and widely practiced in the greater rear area. As a mass movement under the guidance of the Kuomintang government, the Friends of the Wounded Soldier helped rescue a large number of soldiers wounded in wartime and made tremendous contributions to the victory of the Japanese War.
