当前,我国职业教育事业蓬勃发展,技工教育也迎来了一个前所未有的发展机遇。温家宝总理曾在《政府工作报告》中强调:“要把发展职业教育放在更加突出的位置,使教育真正成为面向全社会的教育,这是一项重大变革和历史任务”。技工学校作为我国中等职业教育的重要组成部分,是培养社会生产、服务领域第一线需要的技能型、应用型人才的学校,其培养目标就是要使学生通过学习掌握至少一门实用技术和职业技能,实现稳定就业。就业市场对技能型劳动者特别是高技能人才的需求量增大。技工教育突出操作技能训练,注重职业能力培养,课程设置以工作过程为导向,实行理论与实训一体化教学模式,培养“一专多能”、“一身多证”的社会最需要的劳动技能人才,这就使职业指导的重要性显现出来。
