This article briefly introduces the major aspects of the “International Basic Safety Standards for Ionizing Radiation Protection and Radiation Sources” jointly promulgated by international organizations such as the International Atomic Energy Agency in 1994 and introduces the resolution adopted by the European Commission on the protection of the public and staff in early 1996 The main contents of the basic standard instruction exempt from the danger of exposure to ionizing radiation. The Directive covers 57 articles in 10 parts and 3 annexes, respectively addressing the new recommendations of the ICRP and the ICRU and some improvements in the definition of radiation protection terminology; the scope of the directive; systems for reporting and approving practices; and radiation protection General principles of the system; Estimation of effective doses; Operational protection of staff; Occupational activities leading to exposure to excessive doses of natural radiation; Implementation of public radiation protection under normal circumstances; Interventions; Timeframes required by the directive. The dose limits used in this directive are those recommended in ICRP Publication No. 60
