儒学既有与现代社会生活相抵触的方面,也有与现代社会生活相适应的方面。儒学经过现代转化之后,仍将可以获得广阔的发展前景。儒学现代走向的一个向度是现代性,它可以同市场经济兼容,促进市场经济的发展;另一个向度是民族精神,它为中华民族的精神追求设计了求真、求善、求美、成圣、合群这样一些总体的目标,并且为实现这些目标提出了多种具体的价值理念。在今天,这些理念对于培育中华民族精神仍可发挥积极的现实作用。
Confucianism has both the aspects that are incompatible with the modern social life and the aspects that are compatible with the modern social life.
