从80年代起,美国国家癌症研究所进行了两项大规模的与β-胡萝卜素有关的研究,历时12年。《纽约时报》就此研究结果发表文章,认为食用β-胡萝卜素不但没有抗癌作用,甚至有害。这则建立在数万人实验数据之上的消息非常重要,希望能尽快引起我国食品工业部门的高度重视。需要说明的是该消息并没有说食用β-胡萝卜素的食物,如胡萝卜等的作用如何。对单独服用β-胡萝卜素的作用与服用含有β-胡萝卜素食物的作用有否区别,还要靠实验来证明。
Since the 1980s, the National Cancer Institute has conducted two large-scale beta-carotene-related studies that took 12 years. “The New York Times” published an article on the results of this study, that the consumption of β-carotene not only has no anti-cancer effect, or even harmful. This is based on the experimental data of tens of thousands of people above the news is very important, hoping to arouse the attention of China’s food industry sector as soon as possible. It should be noted that the news did not say that the consumption of β-carotene foods, such as the role of carrots and so on. Whether the effect of taking beta-carotene alone is the same as taking beta-carotene-containing foods depends on experiments.
