INTRODUCTION In solid mechanics, the compressive strength of solid materials refers to the pressure per unit area imposed on the test piece by the press when the solid test piece is crushed under pressure on the press. Nowadays, rock mechanics, rock mechanics and material mechanics both at home and abroad follow this definition. The compressive strength measured as above is said to be ordinary compressive strength.
