(一) 龙坪公社位于鄂东长江北岸,是个沿江滨湖的冲积平原,土地肥沃,是主要种植小麦、棉花的棉麦两熟地区。小麦除旱地种植外,水田也有小量种植。该地区四面环水,地势低洼,地下水位高,土壤湿度大。常年在小麦生长后期特别是4月中旬至5月中旬,正当抽穗扬花灌浆时期,晴天少,雨天多,日照少,小麦不但容易发生赤霉病,而且往往造成徒长和遭受渍害;同时由于光照不足,
