胡锦涛作为中国共产党和中国政府的最高领导人，郑重宣告“维护劳动者权益是工会的神圣职责”，使党领导的工会在中国政府的高度重视和支持下，为在经济全球化过程中构建和谐劳动关系，维护劳动者权益提供了强大的政治保证。这就需要中国工会坚持公平正义原则，在劳动关系领域全方位的充分发挥应有的作用。
