明朝年间,众多门类的手工业中,雕版印刷行业的雕版工最常见诸记载。近一个世纪,研究者在印本书页的折叠处、序言、章节、题记的末尾,或插图的角落中发现了六千余名雕版工的名字。他们的名字仅见于不到一成的现存印刷品,而且这些印刷品中不见制作于北京、广东、福建以及藩王统辖地区者;这一数量至少占明以前四个世纪所知雕版工总数的三分之一,也远远超过陶器、玉器、象牙器、漆器等手工匠人的数量。
During the Ming Dynasty, many types of handicrafts, the engraving industry printing engraving most common records.
