北京是国内重要的汽车生产基地,1992年地区汽车产量超过13万辆,在全国按地区排序中列第三位。汽车工业在北京市工业中占有重要地位,全行业产值(含相关行业)已经达到100亿元以上,占全市工业总产值的12.5％。北京地区汽车工业中,有北京吉普汽车公司、北京轻型汽车有限公司、北京汽车摩托车联合制造公司、北京齿轮总厂、北京内燃机总厂、北京燕京汽车厂、北京旅行车股份有限公司、北京客车总厂等一批全国著名企业,共生产轻型越野汽车、轻型载重汽车、大、中、小型客车、各种专用改装车等共330多个品种、规格的产品。
Beijing is an important automobile production base in China. In 1992, the output of automobiles in the region exceeded 130,000, ranking third in the country by region. The automobile industry occupies an important position in the industry in Beijing.
