广州有色金属研究院承担的“海南岛海滨砂矿钛锆资源综合利用国家“八五”重点科技攻关项目中的“残坡积砂矿选矿工艺”、“水下矿体选矿工艺”及“锆英石深度除杂”三项子课题,技术难度大、攻关指标高,其中残坡积砂矿选矿工艺难度最大.这类资源储量占海南海滨砂矿钛铁矿总储量的66.7%.矿石粒度极不均匀,-0.04mm含量达50%,有用矿物嵌布状态复杂,单体介高度低,由于存在一系列技术问题一直未能开发利用.广州有色金属研究院充分发挥在选矿技术、人才及设备上的优势,经过一年多的攻关,按期全面完成“水下矿体选矿工艺”及“锆英石深度除杂”两专题的攻关任务,技术指标超过合同要求并提出了研究报告;“残坡积砂矿选矿工艺”研究在深入、细致的工艺矿物学及方法研究基础上,制定了合理有效的工艺流程.所提出的两个方案粗选流程均达到了较为理想的结果,指标超过了合同要求,预计该工艺的生产应用将使残坡积砂矿选矿的经济效益较易选易采砂矿会
