If Paris is the most romantic metropolis in the world, then the Eiffel Tower is the most gorgeous architecture in the world. In 2001, the publishing house, Barnes&Nobel, published a painting book Paris—Past and Present. In that book, there is a word describing the Eiffel Tower as, “an iron beauty that soars up from the root of the city wall, and one glimpse reveals the whole of Paris completely under her feet.”
First here, I went to great trouble until I finally got a room at midnight where I could enjoy a view ofthe Eiffel Tower from my window.
The Eiffel Tower seemed like a painted yellow ceramic glaze at night, so brilliant and glowing like pearls. The searchlight on the top of the tower was swiveling and blink-ing off and on.
The whole of Paris was seemingly sound a sleep, lights were blurring in the distance, and stars were twinkling in the sky. Only the Eiffel Tower was glistening lonely in the sky-line.
I opened the window and let the wind freely run into my room. The purple curtains were dancing like a deft elf.
Leaning against the window, I could deeply feelParis, which was so lucky to have hte Eiffel Tower. Right now, the Tower only belonged to me, and Paris was a city all my own.
Bathing in the radiance of the Tower, it seemed I was wearing a unique and gauzy cloth of dreams.
The window was still open and I fell into a deep sleep on the breast ofParis.
