“三峡水利枢纽工程几个关键问题的应用基础研究”,是由国家自然科学基金委员会和中国长江三峡开发总公司联合资助的重大项目,一方面,它属于应用基础研究范畴,应具有学术上的创新性和开拓性,对学科的发展应有所促进;另一方面,其成果不能仅仅是一些论文或研究报告,它又是紧密结合三峡建设进行的,要为解决三峡建设中一些关键问题作出贡献。这是基础研究与生产实践密切结合的形式,是一种新的尝试,是完全符合中央科教兴国和产学研结合的精神的。
