This paper reviews Mr. Huang Guangyu’s major ideas on the eco-planning of mountain cities. The primary principle is that the spatial structure of a mountain city must adapt to its eco-environmental characteristics. The primary foundation is evaluating the natural eco-environments’ suitability of a mountain city and integrating urban development with the spatio-temporal pattern of ecological resources.
