建筑是城市的年轮。自1949年中华人民共和国成立,北平复名北京,再次受领国都之衔,北京城迎来了新一轮的城市发展高峰:中央部委行政办公亟需用楼,国家级文体活动亟需场所,外交使馆区也亟待扩展……于是乎,众多大型建筑如雨后春笋破土而出,它们改变了北京城自元以降的整体形貌,塑造了共和国国都从满目疮痍到昌盛繁华的城市风采。以1976年文革结束为界,北京市规划委员会将兴建于1950年至1976年之间的建筑归类为现代建筑,1977年至今的建筑归为当代建筑。北京现代建筑不仅举全国之力、领时代之风,凝聚着彼时最优秀建筑师的先进才智,同时无声见证了毛泽东时代的风云流变和史事迁徙,成为共和国历史的活化石。
The building is the city’s annual ring. Since the founding of People’s Republic of China in 1949, Peking has been renamed Beijing. Once again accepted the title of the capital city, Beijing City ushered in a new round of urban development peak: the central ministries and administrative departments urgently need buildings, state-level sports venues, Diplomatic embassy district also needs to be expanded ... Therefore, many large buildings springing up mushroomed, they changed the overall appearance of the city of Beijing from scratch, shaping the Republic of the country from devastated to prosperous city style. Based on the conclusion of the Cultural Revolution in 1976, the Beijing Municipal Planning Commission classified the buildings built between 1950 and 1976 as modern buildings, and the buildings from 1977 to the present day were classified as contemporary buildings. Beijing modern architecture not only cites the power of the whole nation but also brings the style of the times together with the advanced talents of the best architects of that time. At the same time, Beijing modern architecture silently witnessed the changes and historical migration of the Mao Zedong era and became the living fossil of the history of the Republic.
