蟠桃山位于平度县城以北8公里处,是平度历史上的“八大景”之一,早在清代,当地农民就开始种植大姜了,距今已有300多年的历史。经过当地农民的世代培育和提纯复壮,逐渐形成一个适合当地生长的新品种,在生产和日常生活中,人们习惯地把产自蟠桃山一带的大姜称为蟠桃大姜。1996年3月,原蟠桃镇,被正式命名为“中国蟠桃大姜之乡”。2010年,经中国国家质检总局审核通过,对蟠桃大姜实施国家地理标志产品保护。 Pingtao Mountain is located 8 kilometers north of Pingdu County, which is one of the “Eight Great Landscapes” in the history of Pingdu.
