The first VHSIC technology to be implemented in the ALQ-131 electronic warfare pods already in operational use has been completed and is estimated to increase the reliability of the system’s technology control components by 50 to 60 times. The Deputy Defense Minister for Research and Advanced Technology, Dr. Lawnard L. Kerby, has informed the Research and Development Branch of the Armed Forces Committee of the National Assembly of the results achieved with the VHSIC technology. He also claims that many VHSIC pilot circuits are available and that they have advanced signal processing capabilities.
