介绍了日本机车车辆 ,特别是新干线动车车轴轴承、牵引电动机轴承和牵引齿轮箱轴承在向高速化、轻型化和无维修化方向发展过程中的结构性能改进和润滑方法、维修方式的改进。新干线动车车轴轴承从油浴润滑、圆柱滚子和深槽滚珠轴承并用发展到采用润滑脂密封型圆锥滚柱轴承 ,轴箱材质也由铸钢改为铝合金。在交流牵引电动机轴承上 ,采用了耐热性和耐久性更好的复合锂皂润滑脂。为防止电蚀 ,采用了喷涂陶瓷膜和PPS树脂膜的绝缘轴承
