This paper summarizes the development of the under-jaw inlet of the integrated liquid-ramjet engine in the advanced strategic airborne missiles in the United States and is divided into two parts: Part I describes the technical development of the flight and intake passages and the structure and performance of the intake duct , Manufacturing techniques, and inlet effects on aircraft performance.
