微生物强化水驱是一种通过引入进而刺激油藏中的微生物来提高原油采收率的技术。通过将室内筛选培育出来的微生物菌种及营养基注入水井地层,以激化油藏中的“本源”微生物,使微生物大量繁殖,产生气体、有机酸、表面活性剂、聚合物及醇等代谢产物,降低岩石—油—水系统的界面张力,降低原油粘度,改善原油流动性能,同时调整地层吸水剖面。1999年8月在百口泉采油厂百42井区进行微生物驱油试验,措施后12个月,增油1745t,少产无效水8795m~3,投入产出比为1:4.8,实现了增油降水,提高原油采收率的目的。
