众所周知,正交场电子枪是不稳定的,并且常常会产生大量噪声。显然,阴极区域的高增益机理是引起这种性能的主要原因。把高频激励信号加到阴极区,我们将能够利用这一现象而降低大量噪声。为验证此概念,装架了一只栅极激励的正交场放大管,并同等效的普通管子作了比较。在相同功率、效率和带宽情况下,在早期实验时信噪比有10分贝改进,后来,信噪比的改进超过25分贝。
As we all know, orthogonal field electron gun is unstable, and often produce a lot of noise. Obviously, the high gain mechanism of the cathode region is the main cause of this performance. By applying a high-frequency excitation signal to the cathode region, we will be able to take advantage of this phenomenon to reduce a significant amount of noise. To verify this concept, a grid excited quadrature field amp tube was mounted and compared with an equivalent common tube. At the same power, efficiency and bandwidth, the signal-to-noise ratio improved by 10 dB at earlier experiments, and later the SNR improved by more than 25 dB.
