在从事秘书工作的人员当中,有相当一部分人的成就动机非常强烈,他们渴求事业的成功,热情很高,释放的工作能量也大。他们具有优越的素质条件和有待发挥的潜力。具有这种品质的秘书人员,实际上就是心理学上所说的高成就动机者。一个企业或一个部门中,有这样的人担任秘书工作,从理论上,应当说是一种幸运。然而,从实际工作的反馈来看,一些具有高成就动机意识的秘书,却常常感叹自己的才华无法在工作中充分地施展,与此同时,一些领导者对这样的秘书也常常毫不掩饰地表示出不满情绪。于是,这种矛盾成为秘书工作中普遍存在的现象。据此,有人便持有“秘书是领导的传声筒”、“秘书是领导的奴仆”等有失偏颇的观点,在实际工作中,片面渲染秘书的“辅助性”,而忽视了秘书工作
