我国东晋时的著名画家顾恺之谈到画人物时说:“四体妍蚩,本无关于妙处,传神写照,正在阿堵中”(《历代名画记》)。阿堵,晋代俗语,即“这个”,这里指眼睛。顾恺之认为,人体的其他部分,画得好一点坏一点,都不十分紧要,而传达人的精神面貌,栩栩如生,真正画得像,关键全在眼珠上。唐代的张怀瓘评论肖象画时说:“象人之美,张得其肉,陆得其骨,顾得其神,神妙无
